Come to the “Still Room“

            The Still Room of the 18th century was a room off the kitchen of larger homes where the Woman of the Manor used her womanly wisdom and skill to create medicinal and hygienic recipes.  In the Still Room, women realized their gifts of healing and brought comfort and nurture to loved ones in need.  These women were revered and trusted for their ability to provide needed care.

           The need for the nurture, comfort, and healing gifts of women has certainly not diminished in our modern times.  Through the growing use of essential oils, the “Still Room” is making a come back. Essential oils are a compliment to modern medicine; but, unlike our contemporary medicine cabinet, essential oils are a reservoir of spiritual and emotional comfort, as well as a resource for physical healing.  Essential oils are made from the living “energies” and healing properties of plants which work holistically on mind, body, and soul.

           The Still Room is a place of preparedness and self-reliance, a place where we may connect with the healing birthright of our foremothers and to forge a legacy for our sons and daughters.
