Energy Psychology

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) belongs to a body of therapies called “energy psychology” or EP. So what is “energy psychology?”

Energy psychology is an approach to psychotherapy that is based in the principles of acupuncture and healing traditions that work with the body’s “energies.” (David Feinstein, PhD)

Energy psychology is an amazing breakthrough that has opened up a whole new world of healing…

Years ago, we had no idea that the world of microbes (bacteria, fungi, and viruses) existed; and yet, these unseen organisms played a profound role in health and disease. Once the microscope was invented, a whole new world of microbiology became accepted science.

Our “subtle energy” system is no different. In earlier times, the flow of our subtle energies through “chakras,” “meridians,” and “auric fields” were only understood by cultures or individuals who were blessed with a super-natural ability to sense or even see them. Research from pioneering scientists, psychologists, and doctors like William Tiller, PhD, Bruce Lipton, PhD; Candace Pert, PhD, Fred Gallo, PhD, Roger Callahan, PhD, David Feinstein, PhD, and Dawson Church, PhD, along with many, many others, has demonstrated that it is the subtle energy system, fed by a universal intelligence or life force energy that actually gives life and healthy function to the cells.

Energy psychology is a powerful union of Eastern and Western Science…

What happens when you combine traditional counseling theory and neuroscience with the science of acupuncture, mindfulness, and subtle energies? You get the bigger picture of human health or “holistic” healing.

At The Light Point Healing Center, we integrate simple energy psychology techniques with traditional therapeutic strategies, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy. Professionals who use energy psychology methods believe that psychopathology or emotional distress which manifests behaviorally, cognitively, neurobiologically, and chemically, can be treated by addressing the subtle energy systems of the body. The new paradigms and interventions emerging from the science of our subtle energy systems are truly exciting and have given birth to profoundly effective and rapid interventions for healing emotional and physical disease.
