Allergy/Cold Remedy

Spring and Summer have arrived!  The sun feels great and we are excited to be out working in the green grass and garden. But…along with the blooms comes allergy season.  We have discovered an awesome remedy for allergies.  We no longer need over-the-counter decongestants thanks to this effective and delightful essential oil remedy.

3 drops tea tree

3 drops lavender

2 drops cypress

1 drop peppermint (optional)

3 drops eucalyptus

2 drop lemon

2 drops rosemary

For adults: Mix with 1 oz. (2 T.) carrier oil.
For children ages 8 to 12: Mix with  2 oz. (1/4 c.) carrier oil
For children ages 3 to 8: Mix 10 drops of the Allergy /Cold remedy with 2 oz. carrier oil.
For children birth to age 2: Mix 5 drops of the Allergy/Cold remedy with 2 oz. carrier oil.
For elderly or individuals with fragile health, use child dosage recommendations.

This can be massaged on the chest (front and back), across the bridge of the nose, back of neck, and around the ears.  Use as often as needed to relieve congestion and enhance the functioning of the immune system. 

You can also diffuse a few drops of the Allergy/Cold Remedy to relieve congestion.

Safety precautions:  Peppermint is not recommended for use  with children under 30 months.  Please keep all oils out of the reach of children.  Be sure to dilute this remedy for children as recommended. DO NOT apply it near the eyes. Avoid diffusing oils near pets, especially cats.

Allergies are good indicators that our bodies need detoxification.  We have found this cleanse to be invaluable during allergy season. Boost the effectiveness of the Allergy/Cold Remedy by using it with the Liver Cleanse:

Adult Liver Cleanse: 1 drop peppermint oil, 1 drop lemon oil, 1 T. lemon juice in 8 oz. glass of water–Stir and drink each morning.

Gentle Liver Cleanse: Blend 10 drops peppermint and 10 drop lemon in a 10 mil. bottle.  Shake well.  Use 1 drop of this blend in an 8 oz. glass of water each morning.

Safety note:  Liver cleanse is not recommended for individuals with high blood pressure or those who take Coumadin.  Be sure to consult your physician before making any changes to your health routine.
